Jerry S. Rawls College of Business IT Security Policy

Account holders shall be responsible and will be held accountable for ALL usage of their accounts. Account holders shall keep their user-ids and passwords confidential in order to protect themselves, their files, and college software or data from unauthorized use. Users shall create unique passwords meeting minimum college standards as stated in the following policy statement. Following password creation, users shall not give or sell password(s) to others for any reason.

BACS recommends that users allow BACS personnel to install any upgrades of currently supported generic software. This insures that configuration and update issues are met at the time of installation or upgrade. If users decide to install upgrades themselves, BACS will troubleshoot future problems that may be encountered with a best effort policy.

The user, by accepting and using his/her account agrees to accept and abide by the Texas Tech University Systems Policies available at: http://www.itts.ttu.edu/documentation/laws.
